  • Thank for the article. Our older hamster "Luci Mittens" started with an abcess probably from a bite. Then she lost all her fur and had rough skin. I took her to the vet. We are treating her for mites and/or a fungus. She is such a trooper. Very tame, always comes when called. She's lost site in one eye now. I will really miss her when her time comes. She still has very little fur but her skin is pink and she is happy. Please find a vet who cares for hamsters before you need one. They are few here in NW Washington.
