Have Fun With Your Hamster
Here are some ways that you can help your hamster have fun...
Take your hamster out of his cage everyday to make sure he gets exercise but make sure to never leave your hamster outside of its cage unattended.
You can play with your hamster simply by letting him climb on you. The more you pet your hamster, the more tame he/she will be. You need to be careful because some hamsters don't like to be handled often, however in most cases the more you handle them the more they will get used to you, but if your hamster looks like they have had enough, for example he/she tries to bite you or wants to sleep, it is a good idea to put him/her back in the cage.
It is a good idea to buy a hamster ball as most hamsters really enjoy them. You can place your hamster inside the hamster ball often so that it can get some exercise, but be sure not to leave your hamster in the ball for any longer than 20 minutes at time without food or water.
As your hamster spends most of its time in its cage it is a good idea to setup their cage for fun. There are many types of cages available in pet stores, some already come with tunnels, running wheels, and little cubby holes or homes, but if you already have a cage and want to make it more fun you can buy multicolored plastic structures like tunnels, wheels, etc and add them on yourself.
